2011年6月12日アスマラ―エリトリア領土への非合法的な侵入により拘束されていた4名の英国人および関連する2010年12月の犯罪に関して、イサイアス大統領は閣僚会議での討議において「エリトリア政府はいかなる外交・プロパガンダ・メディアおよびPR活動にも深入りすることを意図的に控え、この重大な問題を最大限の人として当然の道徳と、忍耐をもって取り扱ってきた」、「この犯罪（証拠によって確認された）について行われたしかるべき捜査の後に、政府は4名の英国籍囚人に対し恩赦を与え釈放することを決定した」と述べました。

Eritrea Pardons Four British Prisoners

Asmara June 12, 2011: Regarding the British nationals who were detained for illegally invading Eritrean sovereign territories and associated crimes on December 2010, President Isaias stated in the deliberation of the Cabinet meeting held yesterday that the “Government of Eritrea has deliberately refrained from digging-into any diplomatic, propaganda, press and PR campaigns and treated this grave matter with utmost natural virtue and patience” and “after a duly conducted investigation of the transgressions committed – which was affirmed with evidence - the Government has amnestied and decided to set free the British prisoners”.
