2010年2月10日に国連大学で開かれたシンポジウム“ソマリア、現在そして未来”に関して
エリトリア政府は、日本政府が、ソマリアおよび周辺地域が直面している現在の危機の平和的な解決へ重要な扉を開く可能性のある重要なシンポジウムを、より広範な対話や和解のフォーラムへの触媒そしてスタート地点として開催したことを歓迎し支持します。
エリトリア政府は、この重要なシンポジウムにおいて、パネリストたちによって共有された公平で思慮深いプレゼンテーションに対し感謝を表明いたします。
エリトリア政府はこの機会に、日本政府および国民のみなさまに、エリトリアは、この20年間、サイイド・バーレ政権が倒れた後にできた全ての暫定連邦政府（TFGs）に対して継続的な支援を常に与えてきたことを、今一度お知らせいたします。
エリトリア政府とエリトリア国民は、過去においてそうしてきたように、ソマリアの私たちの兄弟姉妹が直面している窮地を平和的な解決と、永続的な政治的解決に導く全ての対話と和解のフォーラムを支持し続けます。
エリトリア政府はまた、2006年から2008年にかけて、エチオピアがソマリアに侵攻し、完全に占領した後、ソマリア暫定連邦政府の現在の大統領シャリフ・シェイク・アフマド閣下およびその閣僚たちを匿い、安全やホスピタリティ、医療や人道的支援を与えてきました。

Press Release issued by the Embassy of the State of Eritrea to Japan concerning Symposium “Somalia, Now and Future” held in the United Nations University on February 10th 2010
The Government of Eritrea welcomes and supports the initiative taken by the Government of Japan to organize this important symposium as a catalyst and starting point to a wider forum of dialogue and reconciliation which might open an important door to peaceful solutions of the current crisis facing Somalia and its environs;
The Government of Eritrea expresses its appreciation to the candid perspectives and thoughtful presentations shared by the panelists in this important symposium;
The Government of Eritrea ceases this opportunity, once again, to inform to the Government of Japan and to the Japanese people that continued support has always been provided to all the Transitional Governments (TFGs) of Somalia formed after the fall of the Government of Said Barre in the last twenty years;
The Government Eritrea and its people shall continue, as in the past, to support all forums of dialogue and reconciliation leading to a peaceful and lasting political solution to the dilemma facing our brothers and sisters in Somalia; and
The Government of Eritrea has also provided the current President of the Transitional Government of Somalia H.E. Mr. Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and members of his cabinet with sanctuary, safety, hospitality, hospitalization and humanitarian support after Ethiopia invaded and fully occupied Somalia from 2006 to 2008.
